Our Approach to Membership Dues
The study of Shaolin Chan and Shaolin Martial Arts should be accessible to all, not just those with financial privilege. True commitment comes not from the size of one’s wallet, but from the willingness to sacrifice and dedicate oneself to growth.
At this school, guan dues are not a fixed price but a reflection of personal integrity and fairness. In a world where financial burdens are felt unequally and professions are valued disproportionately, we embrace the Taoist principle that our gifts are meant to be shared—not hoarded.
Guiding Ethical Principles
In setting tuition, students uphold two of the ten tenets of Wude (martial ethics):
· Trust & Integrity – Honesty, fairness, and adherence to moral principles.
· Morality & Justice – Acting equitably, upholding truth, and making the right choice even when it is difficult.
How Membership Dues Are Determined
Students self-report their guan fee, based on a simple formula:
· .2% of annual income per month(divide yearly earnings by 1000, then multiply by 2).
· Minimum contribution: $88 per month.
· No limit on class attendance—train as often as your dedication allows.
This structure ensures that these studies remain accessible to all, while maintaining fairness and accountability.
